Play:

Hook and Eye Invades the Flea

In May 2019, we landed at The Flea theater for a week. Together with creators we sponsored through our Spoolers program we presented three new outrageous pieces.

Echo & Narcissus

Hook & Eye Theater offered a play that explored the story of a self-absorbed soldier from the Gulf War, delving into themes of identity, responsibility, and community. Sparked by the myth of Echo & Narcissus this play became Space Nunz of the Rescue Mainframe.

Pleasure Men

Roger Q. Mason, a writer who identifies as Queer Black/Filipinx, presented a performance piece inspired by 1920s female impersonators, which was influenced by a censored Mae West play.

The Light at the End of the Tunnel

Eliza Bent led a cast who shared a story about the tumultuous history and possible bright future of the New York City subway system, all presented in the form of a subway ride.
