Free to actors, musicians, playwrights, directors and all attendees, Hook & Eye's PlayLabs bring new short works to life in an open workshop setting. The "plays" are loosely commissioned by the company - usually we start with a theme or general tone and task our playwrights or the Core Company with evolving that theme. On the night of the PlayLab, after a group warm-up, we split into smaller groups, take an hour or so to weave our ideas into a piece, and regroup. The evening ends with a show and quick discussion of what has unfolded with wine and snacks.  In all, it brings together the artistic community in a low-pressure high-energy night of creativity.
